We all know the feeling; we think that our relationship is slipping out of our hands and there seems to be nothing we can do to save it. I will be looking at ways of ascertaining whether your relationship is failing and if it is, steps you can take that may help save it.
It is important to establish that there is actually a problem and it is not your imagination; there is nothing worse than one side of a partnership becoming needy for no clear reason. The truth is, most people know if there is a real problem; if you are paranoid then I cannot help you here.
Having established that your partner is becoming distant, what can you do? A change of routine can help in these circumstances; it is all too easy to drop into dull routines when you have been together for a while. It is important to establish that you still have the same goals, broadly, that you had at the start of your relationship. Try and remember what it was that drew you together in the first place and re-focus on that.
Make sure that you are talking to each other. Not just the idle chat that accompanies the sort of dull routine that I have already mentioned, but really sitting down and discussing your hopes and aspirations.
All relationships go through dull patches; if you have built yours on a sound base then you will come through and be stronger for it. It is worth remembering that relationships, like everything else, involve a lot of work and should never be taken for granted.
